TOP 5 REASONS DUE TO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT MAY BE ON

Check engine light is never a good news for car owner
If check engine light is on then it's clear meaning is that your car needs servicing soon.

You can get appointment for engine servicing.

You may ignore it but in most of cases owner diagnose it near the service station.

Here we discussed 5 most common causes to light up check engine light

Everything you must need to know what check engine light came.

And how we resolve this check engine light issue.

IS THE CEL LIT OR FLASHING?

If the light is steadily lit, that means that one of your engine sensors picked up suspicious reading. This can indicate a problem with an engine component, or with one of the sensors.

You can still drive with the light illuminated, but you should get it checked out as soon as possible. If the light flashes, that means you need to pull over immediately as your vehicle has a serious issue that could cause imminent damage.

CAN I CHECK MY OWN LIGHT?

You can. All that you need to check your own light is an OBD-II reader, which can pull codes that help you find out what’s wrong with your car. I

you don’t have a code reader, keep reading to learn the most common causes, and then bring your car to your local AutoZone to find out why your Check Engine Light is on.

    CHECK YOUR OWN CEL

TOP 5 REASONS YOUR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT MAY BE ON

    1

YOUR OXYGEN (O2) SENSOR NEEDS TO BE CHANGE

In the engine assembly oxygen sensor is fitted in the exhaust system of the vehicle.

Function of Oxygen sensor is to measure the amount of unberned Oxygen goes into the exhaust system.
According to this air is intake inside the cylinder by ECU.

Then it consume more fuel or damages the spark plug/catalytic converters.

If this system have any issue the ECU didn't get any information and then EMS system on check engine light.

To resolve this issue we need to replace the Oxygen sensor unit.

    2

FUEL CAP IS LOOSE/DAMAGED, OR MISSING

If fuel cap is loose or damages then of It can be a reason for turn on check engine light.
Because fuel cap seal the fuel tank and maintain the pressure inside the tank.
And due to fuel cap fuel does not evaporated and mixed with air which is dengerous for environment.

To solve this issue we need to change the fuel tank cap.

What happen if we don't change the fuel cap
We loss much fuel that evaporated into the atmosphere.

    3

    HAVE A DAMAGED CATALYTIC CONVERTER

Catalytic converters main functions is converting harmful gases into less harmful gases.

Means converting high toxic gas carbon monoxide into less toxic carbon dioxide
And conversation of nitrox in nitrus oxide.

This problem is occur due to less or no maintenance on this device.

What happens if I don’t replace/maintenance of this system?

Your vehicle will exhaust more toxic gases, not pass an emissions test

It will reduced performance and increase fuel consumption

    4

PROBLEM WITH MASS AIRFLOW SENSOR (MAF)

Mass Air flow sensor measure the amount of air enters into the cylinder during the Suction process. By this ECU knows how much fuel sent to run engine efficiently.

If this system get damaged by any reason then ECU will get wrong information due to this wrong information other system like

Spark plug, Oxygen sensor, catalytic converter.

    may have fault.

If proper Air fuel mixture does not burnt then you may face reduced performance and fuel efficiency.

    5

PROBLEM WITH SPARK PLUGS OR PLUG WIRES

Function of spark plug is to ignite the air fuel mixture inside the cylinder
And spark plug wires convey the current for energy source.
    Ignition coil to spark plug.

If both of them get damaged then it creates a problem with engine operation due to this engine check light may on.

What happens if I don’t replace it?

Car will experience poor performance (reduced power, engine missing) and reduced fuel economy

Worn plugs and plug wires can cause to damage other parts like:-
clogged catalytic converter or damage to ignition coils and O2 sensors.
